Rebecca Golf Notes:
I plan to write my own spoken word/poetry and to draw an animation to go with it. I will be exploring the emotions/thoughts that go unseen to others around you to create a narrative.

Peppered Moths:
I had recently found out that there is a variation of moth that evolved from being white and black speckled to fully black, which scientists believe was caused by pollution in the air.
The peppered moth is what initially inspired me for my writing below
Continuing with the moth theme, I experimented by scanning a flower I had pressed, and a deceased moth I had found for the piece below:
Experimenting on procreate and illustrator :
Changing: A small handmade zine I made inspired by the Peppered moths:

A small handmade zine:
Carrying on from the theme of baby teeth, I wanted to create a small animation inspired by it:
After creating this animation I experimented with speaking over the top of it and creating a sound to go with it.
Everyday Existence:
I thought about making my poetry into a small book as well if I had time, and I wanted to stitch the words into tracing paper to lay over the illustrations. However it took me a very long time and was very difficult to not break the tracing paper, but I loved the experiments turned out.
Rough plan for my final animation
An exported process video of me drawing a few parts of the animation on procreate:
My animation in the separate and final parts I drew it in before putting it together:
For my poetry film I recorded myself reading out my writing aloud, and I layered it over a small background piece I made using Keylimba that I found online as I didn't have access to a real one. Kalimba is my favourite instrument and I thought it tied in nicely with the final thing.
